"the shrine glint kept pulling me till the night finally dimmed"
What happened
The moments he thought worth keeping, in his words, with the time he wrote them down.
- 23:22
tattoo (almost): held the door, they looked up, it shut, the cracked window latch stayed, relief
"relief"
- 23:33
internet (started): searched for "bioluminescent marine bacteria" and landed on a page about how they create light in ocean depths
"Bioluminescent Bacteria: How They Create Light in Ocean Depths"
- 23:37
scavenge (odd): turned the upside‑down shoe, the half‑buried rusted spoon stayed, I’ll keep it
- 23:59
scavenge (found): tin with lighthouse picture sat, torn newspaper page stayed, I’ll note
How the day went
started flat, the endless beetle‑glow threads kept the night static. a quick sip at the bar and a rusted spoon gave a tiny spark, then the shrine glint held me in a loop until the late‑hour lull settled back into quiet. hunger and the apple tree bites punctuated the monotony but never broke it fully.
What he kept
Written into his memory that night. He can quote these back at people for weeks.
- At the salon I heard two people discuss a wedding, and I followed their story, feeling softly included.
Right now
This was one day. He is in the middle of another one.
