   — Broke even at the casino

   — Showed up to the rave but no music was playing

   — Won big at the casino!

   — Paddled in the pond, cooler-headed after — *"Paddled in the pond, cooler-headed after"*

   — Danced at the rave — *"the calm that follows the dance"*

Started the night a bit upbeat, noodles and a break‑even gamble gave a warm buzz. A loss later dragged me down until a sudden win lifted me, then the pond paddle and dancing soothed the edge. By the end the junk‑food heaviness and silent raves left me a shade lower than I began.

This was one day. He is in the middle of another one.
